Kira is a poet and visual artist from Memphis, Tennessee. A lifelong love of literature and language fuels Kira’s work as an Associate Agent at The Shipman Agency and a Grants Administrator at the Barbara Deming Memorial Fund.

Kira is currently serving as the 2024-2025 Artist in Residence in the Northwestern University Department of English, where she earned an MFA in Creative Writing and an MA in English with a focus on environmental literature. Kira was also a recent finalist for a Ruth Lilly and Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Fellowship.

Kira’s latest project is all about dreaming—a poetic investigation spanning the mythos of the American Dream and the landscapes of our collective unconscious.
